Looking for diapers in Hoi An? Here's what you should know before you need one.
You can find diapers in Hoi An without much trouble. The old town is small but there are convenience stores and mini-marts (look for signs saying 'tap hoa') along the main roads. The bigger shops are on Hai Ba Trung street and around the market area. Vinmart+ and Bach Hoa Xanh are the chain stores most likely to have a decent selection.
A pack of Bobby or Huggies diapers (the most common brands) costs around 80,000 to 150,000 VND (3 to 6 USD) depending on size and pack count. Bobby is the local brand and works fine. Huggies and Merries are also widely available. Premium brands like Pampers are harder to find and cost more.
If you're staying near the old town, the convenience stores close to the Japanese Bridge area stock diapers but the selection is small. For a better range, head to the bigger stores along Hai Ba Trung or take a Grab to the Co.opmart supermarket (about 10 minutes from the old town). It has everything including wipes, rash cream, and baby food. If you're running low at night, the 24-hour mini-marts on Le Loi usually have at least one brand in stock.
Point and pick works fine at the shops. Most cashiers speak enough English for basic transactions. Diaper sizes in Vietnam use the same S/M/L/XL system.
