Looking for pharmacy in Da Nang? Here's what we know from experience.

Practical Info

Da Nang has plenty of pharmacies along the main roads and near the beach hotel strip. Like elsewhere in Vietnam, most medications are available without a prescription. Pharmacity has several locations around the city and is the easiest option for travelers. Independent pharmacies line the streets around the Han Market area and along Nguyen Van Linh.

Same low prices as the rest of Vietnam. Common medications cost 15,000 to 60,000 VND (0.60 to 2.40 USD). Children's medications are similarly cheap. Imported Western brands cost a bit more but are still affordable.

The Pharmacity on Bach Dang street near the Dragon Bridge is well-stocked and the staff has some English. If you're staying along the My Khe beach strip, there are a few pharmacies on Vo Nguyen Giap road but the selection is smaller than in the city center. For a wider range, head to the pharmacies near Da Nang Hospital or to the Vincom Plaza area. As with all Vietnamese pharmacies, have the generic drug name ready. Sunburn cream, insect repellent, and oral rehydration salts are the things travelers buy most in Da Nang, and all are widely available.

English is limited at most pharmacies. The ones near the Han River bridge and in tourist areas around My Khe beach are better. Having the medication name or a photo of the package helps. For a more reliable English experience, try the pharmacy inside Vincom Plaza.

Vietnamese pharmacies stock children's paracetamol and basic cold medicines. Packaging is in Vietnamese so bring a photo of what you need or write down the active ingredient. Baby formula and diapers are easier to find at Vinmart or Lotte Mart than at small pharmacies.

If you're in Da Nang and need a pharmacy right now, travel-ER can find the closest one to your location.
