Quick guide to diapers in Chiang Mai, from people who've been there with kids.

The Basics

Diapers are easy to find in Chiang Mai. 7-Eleven and FamilyMart stock small packs of MamyPoko and Huggies, and the bigger stores like Rimping Supermarket, Tops, and the Tesco Lotus branches carry a full range of sizes and brands.

Cost

MamyPoko pants style (the most popular in Thailand) cost about 200 to 350 THB (6 to 10 USD) for a pack of 50 to 60. Huggies and Pampers cost a bit more. The store-brand diapers at Tesco Lotus are the cheapest option and honestly work fine for daytime use.

Practical tips

If you're in the old city or Nimman area, Rimping Supermarket on Nimmanhaemin Road is the most convenient option with a good selection. For bulk buying, the Tesco Lotus on the superhighway has the best prices and biggest range. 7-Elevens carry small emergency packs of 4 to 6 diapers which is handy when you run out at night. Wipes are sold everywhere too. We usually grab a couple of big packs at Tesco when we arrive and keep a small pack in the day bag.
