Paris
We've been to Paris with our kids. Here's what we learned about finding playground there.
Paris has great playgrounds tucked into its parks, and after a morning of museums your kids will need them. The Jardin du Luxembourg playground is the most famous. It's fenced, well-maintained, and has separate areas for toddlers and older children. There is a small entry fee (a few euros per child) but it's worth it. The Tuileries Garden has a free playground near the Rue de Rivoli side plus a seasonal carnival with rides and trampolines. Parc Monceau in the 8th has a lovely shaded playground popular with local families. For something bigger, Parc de la Villette in the 19th has a massive dragon slide and open lawns.
Luxembourg gets crowded on Wednesday afternoons and weekends since that's when local kids are off school. Go in the morning for a calmer experience. The Tuileries playground equipment is older but kids don't care, and you're right next to the Louvre. Parc des Buttes-Chaumont in the 19th is less touristy, has a great playground, and the park itself is dramatic with cliffs and a lake. Bring a picnic from a nearby boulangerie.
We had to figure this out ourselves in Paris. Sharing so you don't have to.
