Finding pharmacy in Toulouse is easier than you'd think. Here's how.
Toulouse is a big student city with pharmacies scattered throughout the center, particularly around Place du Capitole and along Rue Alsace-Lorraine. We found them easy to spot with the flashing green cross. The pharmacists we dealt with were patient even with our broken French.
Toulouse gets very warm in summer and we went through a lot of sunscreen and rehydration sachets for the kids. Both are sold at pharmacies. The pharmacie de garde system covers nights and Sundays. If you're near the train station (Gare Matabiau), there's a pharmacy with extended hours in the station area. For a wider selection of baby and child products, the Pharmacie Lafayette chain has a large store on Rue Alsace-Lorraine.
English is limited at most pharmacies in Toulouse. Having the medication name or active ingredient written down is almost essential. Pharmacists near Place du Capitole and in the city center have slightly better English.
French pharmacies stock Doliprane (paracetamol) for children with weight-based dosing. The pharmacist will ask about your child's weight and symptoms. Baby formula, diapers, and rash cream are available at most pharmacies.
A friend asked us about this before their trip. Now it's here for everyone.
Hopefully you won't need any of this. But if you do, travel-er.app is built for exactly that moment.
